Today, when science and technology are advancing rapidly, wearable technology is developing in the close relationship between products and people. Mobile electronic devices are usually placed in clothing and accessories. The design of these wearable technologies varies according to factors such as position on the body, muscle structure, mobility, and body shape. For this reason, it is inevitable that wearable technologies, which are preferred as clothes or accessories with the same function, provide different experiences to users. These different experiences are very important for industrial designers in the product design process. The increase in the number of studies focusing on user experience also reveals the importance of experience in product design. An important part of the user experience is emotional experiences. The emotional experiences of the users during the use of the product are especially important for the adoption of a product. In this study, we are investigating the emotional experiences of users during the use of two different products, which have the same function but different wearing styles (accessories based and smart cloth based). The emotion wheel developed by Robert Plutchik was used in order to learn the emotions of the users during at least one week of experience of the products. The data obtained with this emotion wheel and the experiences of the users during the use of the product, especially by examining the emotional experiences, were analyzed. As a result of the study, the emotional experiences of wearable technologies with different wearing styles were analyzed and suggestions were developed on the design of wearable technologies.
