Nowadays, the use of CNC (Digitally Controlled Computer) technology has been developed by ensuring the rapid development of the industry. These developments allowed the systems to become cheaper and to be used for hobby purposes. CNC machine provides a precise cutting and engraving process with almost zero deflection. In addition, since there is no contact with material during CNC laser cutting, no crushing or deformity occurs in the processed material. In this project, a 2-axis laser engraving & cutting machine was designed, developed and produced using Arduino-uno microprocessor. The CNC machine is designed for cutting and carving wood, paper, cardboard and thin matte colored plastic. Open source GRBL with G-code logic was used for machine control. Suitable micro stepper motors for machine control were controlled by micro-step driver. Cutting and engraving of the machine was achieved by using a 2.5-watt laser. The 3rd axis was not preferred as it was aimed mainly for engraving and cutting of thin materials and laser focusing was done manually. In order to processors on the laser CNC machine to work with optimum efficiency for long hours, thermal analysis was performed, and the analysis results were optimized with the appropriate analog circuit design and a cooling system.
