EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF CORROSION EFFECTS ON THE NANO-COMPOSITE COATED PETROL BOILER

Corrosion, the interaction of metals with the surrounding environment (chemicals). It is defined as dissolution due to corrosion caused by friction or other (mechanical factors). There are many examples of metal corrosion. These; Vehicles such as oil pipes, petrol boiler, tanks, vehicles operating in the sea, etc. can be shown. In the study, it was aimed to determine the wear level by applying a Nano-Composite coating to steel alloys used in the manufacture of metal tanks to store oil reserves. The metal tank was lined with an epoxy composite reinforced with hybrid particles. The alloy chemical composition was characterized using an (OE Spectrometer). In order to find the electrochemical corrosion test, cathodic and anode behavior, a constant voltage and a variable current were applied at 10 mV to 1000 mV. The relationship between current density (corrosion current) and the voltage difference is linear. It was examined that the increase in this linear current was with a constant voltage difference and any change in voltage was evidence that corrosion was occurring. In the experimental study, the topography and surface structure of the coating materials was examined by an atomic optical microscope. It was performed in hardness, adhesion, corrosion, chemical, and electrochemical tests. As a result of the study, it was determined that the adhesion strength of the coating and the hardness of the coating increased. In addition, it has been seen that the coating is effective in preventing corrosion.
