INDUSTRIAL HEMP BASED JEAN DESIGN

Today, the market and demand for products made from different ingredients that can affect human health are increasing with the awareness on this issue. Many new plant fiber studies, from hazelnuts to oranges, from bananas to hemp, are carried out for this purpose, and the work in the denim sector is quite backward compared to other fabric types. As a result of the sensitivity and awareness studies of European brands regarding products that protect nature and have an impact on human health, the fiber and bio clothing sector, which can grow as a different market, is emerging. The needs of this sector are to meet the end customer with the products that are obtained naturally during the production stages, which cause minimal damage to the nature. It is important that the person using the product contributes to data such as health and performance. In this context, as Eroğlu Giyim, we attach great importance to the production of new fashionable jeans that will be produced by going through different fabrics containing hemp, which we have developed with our supplier, and washings in accordance with the bio garment projection and production processes. Hemp is an important cultivated plant that is grown industrially for its fiber, seed and similar purposes. In many countries, hemp is also produced as an energy crop (biogas, biofuel). Before cotton, which is not a native plant of Anatolia, the clothing and fiber needs of the people living in this geography were met from flax and hemp. The most important usage areas of hemp fiber are rope, twine, rope, tent, sack, textile etc. outside; Today, the seed fiber and stem part are used in different ways. From a sustainability point of view, it is very suitable for organic agriculture production, which aims to protect the soil and the environment, due to the fact that there is no high water consumption in the production of hemp fibers and that it can be grown without the need for fertilizers and pesticides. Cannabis, a plant suitable for crop rotation, destroys weeds and leaves a rich soil structure for the next crop. In the world, industrial hemp fibers are accepted as a sustainable resource with different properties such as strength, durability, insulation, acoustic and resistance to ultraviolet rays. Denim fabrics containing 15 -20 -25% hemp fibers were developed with our supplier company. and productization studies continue in such a way that the effects of the hemp substance in these fabrics on the skin and health will continue in jeans. Since the stiffness of the fabric increases as the hemp ratio increases, the 20% ratio was determined as the most suitable mixing ratio in terms of both obtaining the desired appearance in the finishing processes and in terms of ease of use. Industrial hemp fiber has an increasing importance in the denim sector thanks to the advantages it offers. While the issue of sustainability deeply affects all sectors in the world, our company, which is one of the pioneers of the denim sector, will continue to prepare products and collections for this purpose.
