DETERMINATION OF VERTICAL DEFORMATIONS WITH KINEMATIC MODEL: THE CASE OF ERMENEK DAM

Deformation measurements and analysis are one of the important issues of engineering surveying. In order to analyze these measurements, static, kinematic and dynamic models can be used. In the static model, objects are assumed to be independent of any force and time. The time parameter is not as important as in the kinematic model and the model is set up assuming that the object does not move. In the kinematic model, deformations are determined as a function of time and the model is formed independently of the external forces, and in the dynamic model, the model is constructed by taking into account both the time parameter and the external forces. In this study, the vertical deformations were investigated by using precision levelling measurements performed on the crest of Ermenek dam built on the Ermenek River in Karaman. For this purpose, six period measurements carried out in the 14-point levelling network established on the crest of dam were adjusted with free adjustment method, variance analysis were performed and deformation analysis was performed in static model by S transformation and significant point movements were determined. In kinematic model, deformation analysis was carried out by Kalman filtering method and the results were compared with the results of the static method. The results of the comparison showed that both models give matching results.
