PHYSICIANS SCHEDULING PROBLEM DURING COVID- 19 PANDEMIC FOR A HOSPITAL IN TURKEY ABSTRACT
 
The COVID-19 pandemic affected all the World. A large number of people have become infected and the spread of the disease is very rapid in the entire World. In this process, countries have applied measures to prevent the spread of the disease. Undoubtedly, one of the most important sectors affected by the pandemic is health. In this process, healthcare professionals have duty for diagnosing and treating infectious people and treating people who come to the hospital for other reasons Health professionals have been working at the frontline of this pandemic. An imbalance in workload has occurred due to the fact that this disease brought a burden on certain departments and a decrease in the number of patients in other departments. Due to COVID- 19 pandemic work patterns of healthcare workers have been changed. Consequently, some new constraints are taken into account when creating the schedule of physicians. In this study, the problem of scheduling of physicians during the COVID-19 pandemic was investigated. In the study, the problem was identified by considering the new regulations. Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) model is proposed for the solution of the problem. The proposed model was applied on real data for the scheduling of physicians at a state hospital in Turkey.
