The similarities and the differences about modernization between Iran and Turkey which have been neighbor countries and are located in close geographical points have always been an attractive subject for researchers. Although there are a lot of studies about architectural modernization processes in these two countries as individually and comparatively; there hasn’t been any research found in literature about comparison of architectural periodicals. However architectural periodicals have important role on development of modern architecture and in this way, they gain major importance. Therefore, the lack of researches about the periodicals of the modern architecture in Iran and Turkey can be categorized as a gap in the literature.
This paper aims to fill the gap in the literature with focusing on architectural periodicals of these two countries. In this paper, the architectural periodicals between 1946-1976 will be analyzed with their contents, founders etc. and in this manner, it is hoped to gain some useful data for further studies about Iranian and Turkish modernization.
