ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND CYBERSECURITY: NEW TRENDS AND APPROACHES IN DEFENSE INDUSTRY AVIONICS SYSTEMS
 
The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into cybersecurity practices has revolutionized the defense industry's approach to safeguarding avionics systems. This paper offers a comprehensive examination of the latest advancements, novel methodologies, and emerging trends in cybersecurity tailored specifically for defense avionics systems. As these systems become increasingly complex and interconnected, the threat landscape they face evolves in parallel, necessitating innovative solutions to mitigate risks effectively. AI technologies, including machine learning algorithms and neural networks, are playing an instrumental role in enhancing cybersecurity capabilities within defense avionics. These technologies empower systems to autonomously detect anomalies, identify potential threats, and respond promptly to security incidents. However, the implementation of AI-driven cybersecurity measures presents its own set of challenges, including algorithmic biases, data privacy concerns, and the need for continuous adaptation to evolving threats. This paper critically evaluates the practical implications and limitations of AI-based cybersecurity solutions within the defense avionics sector, highlighting the importance of robust testing, validation, and ongoing refinement processes. Additionally, it emphasizes the significance of collaboration among industry stakeholders, government agencies, and academic institutions to foster a holistic approach to cybersecurity. By providing a nuanced analysis of current trends, challenges, and future directions, this paper aims to inform policymakers, researchers, and practitioners about the transformative potential of AI in fortifying the cybersecurity resilience of defense industry avionics systems.
