THE EFFECT OF SECONDARY DENDRITE ARM SPACE ON THE ELONGATION OF THE ALUMINIM ALLOY WHEEL

Purpose: The goal of this research paper is to investigate the effect of secondary dendrite arm spacing (SDAS) on the elongation of aluminum alloy wheels. The study aims to analyze the relationship between SDAS and elongation, understand the underlying mechanisms, and provide insights into the optimization of cooling parameters during solidification to enhance the mechanical properties and performance of aluminum alloy wheels. By achieving this goal, the research aims to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field of casting technology and provide practical recommendations for the design and manufacturing of high-quality aluminum alloy wheels. Method: The method of this study is an investigation of the size of secondary dendrite arm spacing of Alsi7 alloy's effects on mechanical performance. The results of the studies carried out on this topic were examined. Findings: According to the results, secondary dendrite arm spacing (SDAS) is a crucial microstructural parameter that significantly influences the mechanical properties of cast alloys. This study aims to investigate the effect of SDAS on the mechanical properties, specifically the elongation, of aluminum alloy wheels. The SDAS represents the distance between the secondary dendrite arms that grow from the primary dendrite arms during solidification. A smaller SDAS value indicates a refined and uniform microstructure, which is desirable for improved mechanical performance. Conclusion: In conclusion, this study demonstrates the influential role of SDAS on the elongation of aluminum alloy wheels. Smaller SDAS values correspond to improved elongation, indicating enhanced ductility and better mechanical performance. The findings emphasize the importance of optimizing cooling parameters to control SDAS and achieve desired mechanical properties in the manufacturing of aluminum alloy wheels.
