THE IMPACT OF TECHNICAL PERCEIVED QUALITY ON CONSUMER PURCHASING DECISIONS AND COMPARISON OF GAP AND FLUSH MEASUREMENT METHODS

Various technical methods and targets exist for managing perceived quality in the in the automotive industry. Gap and Flush targets are crucial factors for controlling the visual aesthetics and assembly unity of vehicles. They create the initial impression of the vehicle's quality, making them a significant focus for many customers. Alongside visual aesthetics, technical specifications such as aerodynamics, noise, and permeability, which form the foundation of vehicle design, also contribute to determining Gap and Flush targets. This study aims to examine the influence of setting and accurately implementing Gap and Flush targets on customers' purchasing decisions. Additionally, the research will investigate the existing measurement methods used to verify Gap and Flush targets, comparing them with traditional manual measurement approaches. The paper also addresses the utilization of technical targets that impact perceived quality. These technical targets include factors such as dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and overall fit and finish of the vehicle components. Understanding their impact on customer purchasing decisions can help manufacturers and designers enhance their products' visual aesthetics and assembly quality. Furthermore, assessing and improving measurement methods can contribute to streamlining the production process and ensuring consistent adherence to Gap and Flush standards. The studies in the sector will be evaluated within this framework.
